Game Day Poll
Dirt and Mud
As your guests arrive, they may bring some of the outdoors in with them, especially on a rainy day or during winter months. To minimize the mess and keep your floors clean, consider placing an absorbent doormat just inside your front door for guests to wipe their shoes on. This simple addition can help catch dirt, moisture, and debris before it spreads throughout your home. For an extra level of cleanliness, you could also encourage a shoe-free policy—providing a designated area or a stylish shoe rack for guests to store their footwear. Offering cozy slippers or socks as an alternative can add a welcoming touch while keeping your home spotless!
BBQ Sauce
BBQ is a popular choice for parties, whether it’s chicken, ribs or other foods. Unfortunately, some BBQ sauce is bound to land on your carpet. For a BBQ stain and those from other condiments like ketchup, we recommend using Professional Oxy Spot +Pre-treat . It attacks tough, colored stains and permanently removes them from the fibers of your carpet.
The first step is to use a white cloth or towel to gently blot up as much of the excess sauce as you can without pushing the stain into the carpet. Next, spray the cleaning solution onto the stain. Use a clean white cloth or towel to work the formula into the stained area. Use light, scooping strokes and move from the edges to the center of the stain to avoid spreading it further. Lightly pinch in an upward motion when you reach the center to lift the stain.
Red Wine and Juice
If you or any of your guests decide to enjoy a nice glass of red wine, or if the kids are drinking juice, some might spill onto your light-colored carpet, but don’t worry. Treat wine and juice stains like you would BBQ sauce and other condiments. Just be sure to blot up as much as you can with a cloth (starting from the outside edges and working towards the center) without pushing the stain into the carpet.
