How to Use the Portable Spot Cleaner

Step 1: Check Fabrics and Prepare the Area

Check the manufacturers tag for cleaning instructions. If there is a W or W/S on the tag it means you can use water for cleaning and you can clean it with a spot cleaner. If it is coded S or X or says “Dry Clean Only”, do not use the spot cleaner and contact the manufacturer for cleaning instructions.

Test the cleaning solution and spot cleaner in an inconspicuous spot or hidden area and allow it to dry before proceeding. If upholstery color is affected, do not use the spot cleaner.

Thoroughly vacuum the upholstery, stairs, rug or area before you begin using the spot cleaner.

Step 2: Prepare The Machine To Clean

Remove the clean water tank by lifting straight up and away from the machine. Unscrew the cap turning it counterclockwise. Remove the cap and pull the tube from the Clean Water Tank. Add hot tap water filling the Clean Water line marked on the tank. DO NOT BOIL OR MICROWAVE WATER. Add cleaning solution to the tank filling to the “Soap” line marked on the clean water tank. Recommended use is 4oz per 1 gallon. You will only need 2oz per use (tank size is 1/2 gallon). Replace the cap by inserting the tube back into the clean water tank. Replace the outer cap turning clockwise and tighten. Place the solution tank on the machine by setting it straight down into the machine pressing down firmly until secure.

Lift the motorized brush from the unit and completely unwrap the hose from around the hose wraps.  Unwrap the power cord completely.  Plug into a grounded outlet.  Press the power button to the “ON” position.

DO NOT USE BOILED OR MICROWAVED WATER IN TANK.  Doing so could result in scalding burns.  Not recommended for use on wools, jute, sisal carpets and rugs.  Doing so could damage material and void warranty on machine.  Do not walk on wet carpet.

Step 3: Deep Clean Your Upholstery or Carpet

With the unit powered on, position the motorized brush in front of the stain or area you want to deep clean.  Turn on the motorized brush by pressing the power switch to the “ON” position.  Squeeze and hold the SOAP trigger to begin cleaning.  Slowly move the tool over the stain, releasing the SOAP trigger when complete.  Excess water can be removed by making additional passes with the tool without squeezing the SOAP trigger.  This may permit faster drying.  Leave the machine on for 15 seconds after cleaning to allow all of the dirty solution to be collected into the waste water tank.
